Donors & Funding
First-ever funding for the Salt Creek International Women’s Health Foundation comes from Dr. Fred Burbank‘s book, Fibroids, Menstruation, Childbirth, and Evolution: The Fascinating Story of Uterine Blood Vessels. To this day, 100% of the revenue made from this textbook is donated to our organization. However, Fred wanted to share this book and create for it a home where it could be downloaded for free. You may read it freely here.
Additional funding comes from Johnson and Johnson. When Johnson and Johnson returned the paracervical clamp (a medical device solution for prevention and treatment of postpartum hemorrhage) to Fred and Mike (see Our Story), the company also donated a large gift to help the Salt Creek International Women’s Health Foundation prepare a clinical study of the device. Currently, we seek to secure funding to execute this study, which is the foundational first step needed to ultimately implement the use of the device in developing countries where death and disability from postpartum hemorrhage is of greatest concern. We are grateful for the generous donation made by Johnson and Johnson in support of our first project, Saving Mothers, which endeavors to provide a simple, low-cost, safe, and effective solution to the treatment and prevention of postpartum hemorrhage.
