Our mission is to develop medical device applications that address critical women’s health issues in emerging nations and to directly implement the use of these devices in the hands of health care providers who serve women in these countries.
We believe in great health for all women around the globe. To achieve this vision, we develop medical device technologies that can stop the suffering, pain, and even death of women in places where resources are scarce, where transportation may be difficult to reach, unsafe, or unreliable, and where women may face cultural, social, or financial barriers to their health and well being. These are challenges that no woman should have to endure. We are focused on changing the course of these challenges. Our products are more than a cause — they are solutions.
Why women’s health? When women have their health, they are able to care for their loved ones, friends, and families. Women’s health leads to increased empowerment. And, like Melinda Gates wrote wisely and with simplicity, “empowered women make nations strong.” To fuel our international community, Salt Creek International Women’s Health Foundation endeavors to nurture and improve women’s health. Our mission represents a sustainable solution to healthier families, communities, and nations across the globe. We find and execute solutions to the gravest of women’s health issues. And thus, we contribute in our own very unique and specialized way to a stronger, better world.
Current developments? We are currently focused on our project, Saving Mothers, to greatly reduce the deaths and morbidities caused by postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) in developing nations. This project introduces a medical device solution (paracervical clamp set) to treat and prevent PPH in a safe, highly effective, simplistic, and cost-effective manner. This device is anticipated to greatly reduce the mortality and morbidity associated with PPH, specifically in resource-poor settings of Africa and Southeast Asia where PPH-related mortality and morbidity is of greatest concern.
